Show plant evolution with our model Chlamydomonas
Your students will enjoy learning about Chlamydomonas with our colourful model. Chlamydomonas are single celled green algae that live in fresh water that share features with higher plants. They swim using their two flagella towards the brightest light for photosynthesis.
The model covers all the main parts of these cells: chloroplast, flagella, eye spot, contractile vacuole, pyrenoid, cell membrane, cell wall, nucleus, chromosomes, mitochondria and Golgi.
Students make their Chlamydomonas model using the colourful parts working alone or in small groups. It can be printed in colour, or in mono on coloured or white paper.
