This simulation experiment demonstrates the process of DNA amplification by PCR and how the amplified product is detected by separating the reaction mixture by agarose gel electrophoresis.

For 10 groups of students (10 gels).

Time required: 45 minutes.

Kit includes: instructions, dye samples, agarose, electrophoresis buffer, practice gel loading solution, disposable pipettes.

All you need: electrophoresis equipment and fixed volume or adjustable micropipettes that measure 40µl.
