Show mass spectrometry clearly!
Mass spectrometers are highly sensitive instruments used to identify unknown chemicals. The samples are vaporised, ionised, accelerated, deflected and detected. A computer produces a mass spectra that plots the mass/charge ratio against abundance.
Your students make their model of a mass spectrometer and use it to analyse the spectra of chlorine. The interactive model shows how mass spectrometry works and looks at what happens in each stage.
