Teach ketones in an dynamic way
Ketones are organic compounds with a carbonyl functional group that have important biological roles in sugars and hormones. They are used industrially in paints, varnishes, nail polish removers and during the production of other products.
The structure and reactivity of ketones are easy to understand with our unique molecular models that shows how electrons behave during bond formation.
Your students first build their easy to make paper models of atoms and electrons. They use these to form organic molecules by sharing electrons between the atoms. The differently coloured electrons make it easy to see how the bonds are formed.
The models can then be used to show ketone structure, naming ketones, physical properties, nucleophilic addition reactions and redox reactions.
