Make plant hormones fun with our colourful model!
Plants must respond to stimuli such as light and gravity to survive. These responses are called tropisms. Show your students how plants do this with our dynamic model.

First, students make their models of a shoot and a root. They then use their models to look at how shoots and roots respond to light and gravity. They will see that the shoots grow towards the light and grow away from gravity. Roots grow away from light and towards gravity. The hormone auxin is responsible for both.
The model covers: phototropism, gravitropism (geotropism), growth by cell elongation and how auxin moves to cause tropisms.
