Show how the menstrual cycle works
The menstrual cycle is controlled by hormones produced in the ovaries and the brain. Our model shows how and where different hormones act to prepare the uterus for pregnancy or reset the uterus for a new cycle should fertilisation not occur.

Perfect for use in class or for distance learning at home!
After making their models, your class will look at how hormones released from the pituitary gland act upon the ovaries to prepare an egg for fertilisation. Hormones released from the ovaries cause the uterine lining to grow and suppress hormones from the pituitary gland so only one egg is released.
The model covers: uterus structure, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone (LH), estrogen (oestrogen), progesterone, corpus luteum and feedback loops.
