In this lab, students will perform electrophoresis on the DNA samples of two lions in order to return them to wildlife sanctuaries close to their ancestral home.

• Perform DNA electrophoresis and RFLP analysis
• Analyze phylogenetic tree and haplotype maps
• Explore how conservation biologists use genetic data

All you need: DNA Electrophoresis, Micropipettes: 5-50 µl (Optional), White Light Box, & Microwave or Hot Plate.
Time required: Complete gel electrophoresis in 45 minutes / Analysis in 20-30 minutes
