Teach aldehydes in an interactive way
Aldehydes are organic compounds with a carbonyl functional group that occur naturally in carbohydrates and even in our eyes. They are used widely industrially as preservatives, flavourings and during the production of other products.
Download and print as many times as you want - forever at no extra cost!
The structure and reactivity of aldehydes are easy to understand with our unique molecular models that shows how electrons behave during bond formation.
Your students first build their easy to make paper models of atoms and electrons. They use these to form organic molecules by sharing electrons between the atoms. The differently coloured electrons make it easy to see how the bonds are formed.
The models can then be used to show aldehyde structure, naming, physical properties, nucleophilic addition reactions and redox reactions.
